8th Annual Connect + Amplify Luncheon

Connect Community works at a neighborhood level to build lives of promise in the belief that a city is only as strong as its neighborhoods.

The theme of the 8th Annual Connect + Amplify Luncheon is J is for Jambo, V is for Vamos: Learning in our Multicutural Neighborhood. We are extremely proud to highlight the work of our School Leader Community of Practice and our multilingual Translators, who are using their Arabic, Dari, Pashto, Spanish and Urdu-speaking skills to make a transformational change in Gulfton and Sharpstown schools. In only eight months, Connect Translators have built a strong rapport with students, families and faculty, creating communication bridges that are solving academic, behavioral and intercultural challenges for close to 500 students and families.

This year, come and be inspired by the great work that Connect Community is doing in partnership with the schools, students, and residents of the Gulfton/Sharpstown community.
