financial stability to Southwest Houston.
One Community,
One Hub
At MCC, we believe change happens at the grassroots. We engage the residents of Gulfton and Sharpstown to build better lives for themselves and their families. Through English language classes, financial literacy training, job and entrepreneurial opportunities, childcare, youth activities, mental health support, and access to affordable housing, we help our local families pursue and achieve financial stability and offer the community a place to call home.
Stability. Integration. Dignity.
MCC takes a 360-degree approach to giving Houston’s immigrant population a chance to build their best lives here. Our impact is both data-demonstrated and unquantifiable by the families we serve.
We Are Purpose Built
Transforming Houston Neighborhoods from the Inside Out
MCC is a proud network member of Purpose Built Communities, the nation’s leader in strengthening overlooked neighborhoods and paving pathways to prosperity. Founded in 2009 by philanthropists Warren Buffett, Tom Cousins, and Julian Robertson, Purpose Built supports 27 member organizations in 14 states. Purpose Built’s approach is based on the belief that neighborhoods are engines of social change and hyperlocal organizations are uniquely positioned to understand and address their communities’ needs.
MCC’s approach to revitalization through the pillars of housing, health and wellness, education, and economic vitality mirrors Purpose Built’s innovative structure. Purpose Built member organizations around the country have had data-demonstrated impacts in developing safe and affordable housing; reducing poverty; reducing crime; increasing high school and college completion; and creating accessible pathways to employment, wealth accumulation, and social mobility. MCC is deeply grateful for Purpose Built’s support and proud to be a Purpose Built Community in Houston.
